Riding on the shoulders of stellar storytelling, a mind-bending premise, and the charismatic Mr. Wednesday (and possibly boosted by the media hype over the upcoming televised version…), our champion is the one and only…
It’s come down to this.
16 books sought fame and glory.
14 fell in defeat.
1 final battle of wills and literary prowess.
1 champion will be crowned.
SO DRAMATIC, RIGHT??
This is it! We started with sixteen awesome books and four legends have emerged to duke it out in a pair of glorious semi-finals. Who will achieve eternal fame?
Let’s take a look at the fortunate four and the paths they took to get here (with a few editorial comments to establish some drama…):
Eight valiant contenders continue their quests for victory! If the Sweet 16 taught us anything, clearly I have a thing for the ancient Mediterranean…and that hasn’t changed in the Elite 8.
Let’s get this round started with a titanic match up between two pantheons.
A few weeks back, I talked about the books I read in 2015, mainly the unconscious variety I found on my list, both in terms of authors (new and familiar) and genre (ALL the genres).
But I didn’t mention anywhere among all those musings (ramblings, if you like, I won’t be offended) which books were my favorite.
A lot of people put out their Top Ten lists at this time of year. Not me. Nope, you’re getting my Fabulous, Fierce Five. Because narrowing it down to five choices is so much…better? I don’t know.
